Culinary Arts at Bermuda College is a vibrant community of students and instructors.
We offer two Culinary Arts programmes to choose from.


Associate of Applied Science Degree in Culinary Arts

The Associate of Applied Science Degree  is a two-year programme is designed to prepare students to meet the needs of the food service industry. Course offerings emphasise practical application, a strong theoretical knowledge base and provides the critical competencies to successfully meet industry demands.

The programme  includes core courses, electives and general education requirements. Students complete a 12-week internship at a local hotel or restaurant where they will rotate through different sections of a kitchen.

Diploma in Culinary Arts

The Diploma provides students with basic education and training in culinary arts and is designed for those students who want to enter the workforce directly after graduation. Students complete a 12- week internship at a local hotel or restaurant where they will rotate through different sections of a kitchen.

Learning Outcome

  • Demonstrate food presentation techniques and presentation.
  • Demonstrate professional and safe handling skills of knives, food service tools, and equipment in a production kitchen.
  • Demonstrate skills in culinary methods and techniques in creating dishes using the principles of classical and modern food preparation and baking techniques.
  • Apply principles and techniques of appropriate sanitation and safety skills in food handling and storage techniques.
  • Practice the personal and professional ethics and interpersonal skills that are expected in the industry.
  • Apply principles of nutrition in maximizing nutrient retention in food preparation and storage.
  • Apply basic knowledge of properly purchasing and receiving supplies.
  • Summarize basic principles and concepts of the hospitality industry.
  • Demonstrate and apply principles of food server duties in a variety of types of dining room service.

Hamilton Princess & Beach Club Chef Visits BC

Chef Dana with BC culinary students in the kitchen Hamilton Princess & Beach Club chef, Danai Hongwanishkul, visited culinary and hospitality students at Bermuda College to provide instruction and insight into the food industry.

Chef Danai worked with Senior Culinary Lecturer, Teneika Eve, to deliver a Marcus’ inspired menu for culinary students and helped teach them how to deliver a gourmet meal under professional kitchen standards, as part of Bermuda College’s Prospect Lunch series.
