Carigenitcs Donates $100,000 to Bermuda College Foundation
Bermuda College Foundation (“the Foundation”) is pleased to announce the $100,000 donation from CariGenetics Limited (“CariGenetics”) to fund the renovation of two decommissioned Bermuda College (“the College”) classrooms into one research laboratory and one clinical genetics laboratory that will be used on a full-time basis by CariGenetics to further their impactful work.

Launch of College's 50th Anniversary
Bermuda College’s 50th anniversary celebrations launched under sunny skies on Monday, July 1 in the BF&M Circle Courtyard. The College Act 1974 was signed in to law on July 1 and approximately 60 special guests and College administrators, faculty and staff gathered under a canopied tent to commemorate the historic event.

Bermuda College has selected its new President!
Bermuda College’s new president, Dr. David Sam’s reputation as a successful change catalyst precedes him. Described as an accomplished, innovative, academic leader with more than 25 years of experience in higher education, Dr. Sam was at the helm of Elgin Community College in Elgin, Illinois when it was named among the top 150 community colleges for Community College Excellence in 2019 and 2021, and then as a semi-finalist in 2023 by the Aspen Institute, an educational and policy studies organisation.

CULINARY ARTS STUDENTS COLLABORATE WITH ONE COMMUNICATIONS AND THE COALITION OF PROTECTION OF CHILDREN
Community engagement came in all shapes and sizes for Bermuda College this Easter holiday. Not only did the culinary arts students supply families with 30 dozen hot cross buns and 30 dozen fishcakes through collaboration with One Communications and the Coalition of Protection of Children for the traditional Easter meal, but the College was also able to provide, in a unique way, a critical component of the traditional Re-enactment of the Good Friday events produced by the East End Ministerial Alliance of Churches.

The Athene Career Development Centre wins an award for the Commercial and Interior Design section of "The Bermudian" Magazine.
Congratulations are in order as the Athene Career Development Centre was recently named the winner in the Commercial and Interior Design section of The Bermudian magazine. Prestigious architectural firm, OBMI worked collaboratively with the Bermuda College Foundation, and a Bermuda College project steering committee, led by Dr. Greene and Facilities Manager, Cleun Gaiton, to complete the 7,500 square feet, $3.8 million renovation project in approximately two years.

Bermuda College has received a presidential citation from the American Psychological Association for its dedication to providing quality higher education programmes to its community. It was also recognised for prioritising overall mental and physical wellbeing and continuity of care to employees and students through challenges brought on by the pandemic.

Climate Change and Hurricane Preparedness Research Survey
This research survey has been approved by the Bermuda College Research Ethics Committee and will contribute to informing and supporting future public discourse, policy development, adaptation to climate change risks, and public health service delivery in Bermuda (including the Bermuda Climate Change Impacts study led by Dr. Mark Guishard from the Bermuda Weather Service and BIOS), as well as the direct and indirect public health impacts on some of the most vulnerable members of our community, I would really appreciate you sharing this link with all your family, friends and colleagues, as we seek to gain a true representation of public opinions in Bermuda.
