Certificate in Basic Horticulture

Programme Overview

This foundational, competency-based programme is designed to prepare students with the skills and knowledge to engage in careers in the horticulture industry. Upon completion, students will be qualified and ready to work in grounds maintenance, plant nurseries, landscaping, garden centres, golf courses, lawn care, and parks and recreation departments. This course also covers the requirements for the national standards.

2025 CURRICULUM

Certificate in Basice Horticulture (Level 1) AGC 990
This foundational, competency-based programme is designed to prepare students with the skills and knowledge to prepare them for careers in the landscape and horticulture industries. Upon completion, students will be qualified to work in grounds maintenance, plant nurseries, and landscaping, garden centres.

January 27 – April 30
Monday/Wednesday 6:00-9:00pm
$1895 per semester
NOTE: Judith Welch Course fee does not include textbooks.

 

Certificate in Basice Horticulture (Level 2) AGC 991
This foundational, competency-based programme is an extension of the Level 1 programme. This course offers a breadth and depth of study and equips students with applied knowledge and associated practical skills. Upon completion, students will be qualified to work in grounds maintenance, plant nurseries, and landscaping, garden centres. This course is aimed at individuals who have either successfully completed the Certificate in Basic Level or who have been assessed at Level 1 for National Certification.
