Dr. David Sam has been selected as Bermuda College’s new president – the seventh in the institution’s fifty year history.
The Board of Governors approved Dr. Sam’s appointment following a 6-month extensive search, conducted by a presidential search committee comprised of governors, alumni, faculty and staff and student representative. Pending the approval by the Department of Immigration, Dr. Sam will begin his role as president on 5th August, 2024.
Dr. Sam has a proven track record as a change agent, and the board has the utmost confidence that he will leverage the success of the past to deliver a greater institution of higher learning, to serve Bermuda for the next 50 years and beyond. His vibrant demeanour and passion for student success, coupled with his ability to genuinely connect with others on a deep, personal level, will serve him well to uplift the BC Community.
Originally from Ghana, Dr. Sam has spent a ‘lifetime’ in the United States working as a collaborative leader, and is anticipating being at the helm.
“I am eager to bring my ‘A-game’ daily to collaborate with all stakeholders to advance the mission of the College and serve the people of Bermuda,” Dr. Sam stated.
With Dr. Sam’s appointment, the Board of Governors invites the College Community to envision as they do, a future of unbounded and untold potential for Bermuda College and for all those who share in our mission.
