Balloon-Free Campus: Please note that Bermuda College is a balloon-free campus. Balloons should not be brought onto campus for Commencement or related events.

Speakers

Commencement Speaker: Gino Z. Smith
Gino Z. Smith is a Bermudian global reinsurance executive with more than 25 years of international experience across six countries and three continents. A proud Bermuda College alumnus, he began his higher education journey at the College before continuing to St. John’s University, where he graduated as valedictorian.
He has held senior leadership roles with AXA XL Re and AXIS Re and currently serves on the boards of the Bermuda College Foundation and the Bermuda Monetary Authority.
Gino remains committed to mentorship, service, and community impact.

Student Commencement Speaker: Callahj S. Simons
Callahj S. Simons is a student leader, youth advocate, Dual Enrolment student and proud product of Bermuda’s public school system. She currently serves as Student Government President at Bermuda College and has held leadership roles throughout her academic journey, including President of The Berkeley Institute Student Council.
She is passionate about advocacy, youth empowerment, and equal rights, and has been recognised for her leadership, academic achievement, community service, and involvement in the arts and martial arts. Her experiences include serving as Youth Premier, participating in an Oxford law summer course, completing legal mentorship and industry internships, and representing Bermuda Youth Parliament in the UK House of Commons.
Callahj is committed to inspiring others, breaking barriers, and using leadership and service to make a positive difference.
Commencement Parking
Please refer to the campus parking map for designated parking areas:
- Reserved parking for seniors, persons with disabilities, and government dignitaries is located on the field – Area 1.
- General parking is located on the sectioned-off grass area by the bus stop - Area 2.
- Overflow general parking is located in Parking Lot F – Area 3.
Please follow all signage and directions from security on the day of Commencement.
