We are here to work with you at all stages of your occupational journey.....exploring options...... taking those first steps.....coping with job loss or career transition....and preparing for retirement.

Where are you going and how do you plan to get there?

Career planning should be considered a life-long process with a strong emphasis on knowledge of self.  Historically it has been viewed as  a four step process:

  • Choosing an occupation,
  • Getting the first job,
  • Developing within the job,
  • Changing jobs/occupations, and
  • Preparing for retirement.

The current financial climate calls for another step - coping with job loss. All of the steps are built on the foundation of understanding who you are in terms of interests, values, skills, and preferences. Understanding these facets of who you are supports a life balanced by job satisfaction and fulfilling leisure activities.

BC VillageThe Bermuda College Village presently plays a visible role in advocating for LGBTQIIA+ students. The club’s primary objectives are advocating for inclusive vocabulary, raising awareness of the diverse experiences within the LGBTQ+ spectrum, and inspiring creativity via discussions on campus. The group seeks to meet said objectives through campus-wide educational campaigns and queer-positive public events, such as their recent Poetry Slam, which fosters creative expression and community engagement.

The BC Village seeks to spread awareness of the challenges confronting LGBTQIIA+ students every day and advocate for these students’ right to a safe and equitable educational environment. Future projects include campus events, informal educational pop ups around campus, training for students and employees as well as a local conference inviting academic and community leaders to Bermuda College in 2020.

All are welcome to join the Village. We encourage open, honest conversation that fosters respect and inclusivity to create a safe campus.
