CONGRATULATIONS to BC student, Jashae Allen-Lamontagne who was recently crowned grand champion at the World Cup Open Martial Arts Championship in Virginia.
The 19-year old Nursing student is a Kung Fu fighter, and member of the Bermuda Karate Organisation.
She came out on top with honours in her age group, after competing in the martial arts disciplines of forms, weapons, and sparring. In a recent newspaper article, Allen-Lamontagne claimed the forms’ grand champion title, one of three such titles achieved by the Bermuda contingent.
Overall, the group earned 23 meals to go along with the three grand-champion titles. Allen-Lamontagne and another teammate, Kentaro Bean, were the only members that competed in all three disciplines.
