My higher education journey began with the IB Diploma. At the age of 17, I travelled across the Atlantic and ended up in a little village called Duino; a village pulled between Italy and the former Yugoslavia. In the middle of struggling with a foreign language, exploring my new world, and dealing with the academics I learned three important lessons: I can travel anywhere and survive, I must do what I love, and I must have balance in life.
The 'doing what I love' proved to be a twisting trail through science, psychology and law. My experiment with law taught me that I believe in shades of grey and can better help people by pursuing an occupation in the field of psychology. My journey with psychology has taken me through the mental health sector, substance abuse sector and employee assistance arena before resting with the Counselling & Career Centre of Bermuda College. It is here that my passion for helping others has been realised by working with people to discover their dreams and begin their own journeys.
As a CSC instructor I get to share my own experiences and facilitate the discovery of options and opportunities in all areas of life. As a Counsellor, I am rewarded when students and clients from the community triumph over obstacles and walk across the graduation stage or find success with a stated goal. And, as a student of life, I continue to challenge myself by reading and travelling to expose myself to new ideas, new cultures and new experiences. Most importantly, I've learned to maintain balance by making sure I spend time with family and friends and stay active with activities like boxing and latin dance.
I look forward to working with you in the discovery of your passions and dreams.
